MORE
The calculator uses the input to calculate if there is enough cash to cover the costs involved in administrating your estate and indicates to you if there is a liquidity shortfall. It is important to indicate what your destiny for the specific assets are and if it could be sold, to improve the liquidity of your estate.
If there is a need for liquidity you can decide to sell some of your assets instead of bequeathing it, by changing the indication next to the asset, and immediately see what the effect is on the calculation.
After you have indicated what assets must be bequeathed and what assets can be sold and you still have a shortfall of cash, the calculator shows you how much life cover you can affect on your life to make your calculations balance. The amount of life cover you must take out will normally differ from the outstanding amount because the increased costs incurred in administering your estate is also added to the insured amount needed.

Capital Gains Tax payable on affected assets is not calculated by this calculator. (A primary residence, owned by a natural person where the proceeds do not exceed R2 million, is excluded from Capital Gain Tax).
